dynamo wireing
which wires go together on the dynamo wireing the big yellow and white with the small yellow and white ignition light ? red and white to field terminal its not at all clear on the wireing diagram . thanks any help apreciated

Re: dynamo wireing
The circuit for an ignition warning light system, rather than an ammeter, is:
Yellow/red tracer [thinish wire] = ignition switch to ignition light on dash panel, to A1 on regulator.
Red/white tracer [thinish wire] = F on regulator to dynamo [field terminal].
Yellow/red & black cross tracer [thickish wire] = D on regulator to dynamo [charging circuit].
Note that the above circuitry can still be used if an ammeter is also fitted.

Re: dynamo wireing
hi thanks for your reply i shud of said my tractor is a super major with the later regulator with d e a f terminals .the connections on the regulator are plain enough on the wireing diagram , but at the dynamo end it looks like the ignition light wire go's to field and the d and f wires on the big dynamo terminal confuseing or is that right ?
Re: dynamo wireing
Black/green = ignition switch to oil & generator lights.
Yellow/white [thinish] = generator charge light to generator.
Red/white = generator to F on regulator.
Yellow/white [thickish] = generator to D on regulator.
Yellow = A on regulator to starter solenoid [battery side].

Re: dynamo wireing
ok many thanks ill wire it as you'v said

Re: dynamo wireing
An addition to my post above:
According to the wiring diagram for the Fordson Super Diesel, which has the 4 post regulator [D E A F] that you have, the dynamo should have, as I've shown, 3 terminals on it. However, later dynamos have only 2 - F & D. In this case connect the Yellow/white wire from the dash charge light to the Yellow/white wire connected to the D connector on the regulator or dynamo. If possible, solder them together.
