Purchasing a plow

Post by Nick »

Hi everyone, now ive sorted the steering out on my major (finally), i want to buy a plough for it.
What has everyone else got? Would a 2 furrow be a bit small?

Nick,

A two furrow would fit just fine. In light ground you could use a three furrow.
Fordson made use of Ransomes ploughs and called it the FR (Ford - Ransomes) series. They also build a few them self’s.
The Elite was a wheeled plough for the E27N, The PM plough was a mounted plough for the E27N. The EP was a mounted plough for the Major. After I think 1956 (or 1954) they let the implements work to Ransomes and the Ransomes TS59 was the one for the Major.
You will need a plough with a depth wheel when you don't have depth control.
But even with depth control a depth wheel will be very useful.
Kind regards, Henk

I think not. Harry was oh so proud that there was no need for that.
