need to re-thread the valve connection

Hello all,

I have been so lucky to find an original valve to be installed under my super dexta fuel tank.

However, the valve fits perfectly on the tank, but the fuel line connection is damaged and will not hold.

Checking the fuel line the thread on the "bolt" is fine, but the thread in the valve is damaged and I need to re-thread that part.

The problem is only that I do not know the type and size of thread. Can anybody tell me. as I have googled already but no answer.

Looks like the threads on an original tap/primer (valve/cock) are 1/2" UNF (20 turns/inch).
