Super Major Brakes
Can anybody give me some ideas on how to remove a seized inner brake disk on the left side of a 1963 Super Major. When I got the tractor, the brake was totally seized as it was rusted onto the inner housing. I have got the outer disk off, and the inner one is now free from the housing, but I cannot get the inner plate to slide out along the splines. The seal is leaking so I need to get it off to replace it, and check the bearing. Thanks for any ideas. - Kav.

Re: Super Major Brakes
I made a puller out of a piece of pipe with a nut welded at end and a long bolt and tacked the pipe to brake disc and wind the bolt into shaft cheers kev

Re: Super Major Brakes
Can you wiggle it at all? If so, could it be pulled with a couple of strong magnets?

Re: Super Major Brakes
Thanks for your replies, Kev and Skidrow. Today I made a puller and welded it to the Brake disk as you described Kev and I got it off. It was badly rusted on, and I had to weld it properly all the way round, and even then I had to really pull hard with a three foot bar on the three-quarter inch bolt. It was tight right to the outside, but it's off now - thanks for your help - cheers- Kav.
