Post by RACDEXTA »

Could anyone help me with some advice for the purchase of a suitable flail topper, what make, size, hp, and lift capability etc. Regards Rob

I have a second-hand Kuhn 5' behind Dotty. It is more a brush cutter than a finish mower but I use it to take the tops off potatoes as well as cut grass. She is the ideal tractor for me on that.

Dotty is about 37 hp.

I have a 2 bladed - total width 180mm - off-setted brush-cutter (easier cutting under small trees :) ). It cuts everything to pieces, exepts stones ! The recommended HP is 40...75HP, but I always drive at lower speed (1 for high grass - 2 or 3 (= 1 high) for short grass) and than she can handle it with ease.

If you need a nice flat and smooth grass-landscape, Check at http://www.caroni.it/inglese/mac_agrico ... lcome.html
They are easy to find and not that expensive (at least in belgium).

I always say : she (dexta) has 32 BHP, but a donkey behind the steering wheel.
