CLutch Pedal Stop

Post by justjamiefarming »

Can someone please tell me if this clutch pedal stop is standard on a 1960 non live drive tractor, or has someone added it to keep the pedal at a comfortable height :?:

I suspect that the stop has been added at a later date.

Thanks for the quick reply Gerald,

I intend to split the tractor shortly to check the clutch plate and also renew the seals in the housing.

If your sure the stop is not supposed to be there, I will remove it then and then adjust up as normal and see what happens.
I suspect the clutch will adjust but the pedal will be fairly high.

Jamie.

I cant find the part in question in the parts book (online '59 dexta), but looking has thrown up another question.

I also have a '61 live drive dexta and in the '59 parts book on the clutch components page, it shows an external clutch return helper spring for the lpto option. My live drive tractor does not have this, so has everyone with a live drive got this external spring fitted :?:

Thanks for the reply Rob.

So the mystery deepens.

Original or not, that is the question :?

It would be a coincidence to have two tractors from the same year with the same part and yet not be original dont you think?

Can someone else with a '60 Dexta confirm or deny please?

Sorry to re-start this thread guys but I am getting dangerously close to rebuilding the clutch assembly and joing the tractor back up.

Please can somebody help us confirm or deny that this stop should be fitted. :(

Ok guys, I think the general concensus is that the part is original and so the topik is officially put to bed.

Many thanks for the opinions,

best regards, Jamie
